9 – Solheim Cup: The Venue

Gleneagles is an incredible Scottish 5-star Hotel and golf facility proud to claim host to both the 2014 Ryder Cup and now the 2019 Solheim Cup. The massive and magnificent hotel housed the players, families, caddies, and tournament staff, and boasts three championship courses: The King’s, the Queen’s, and the PGA Centenary course – this Nicklaus design was ready to challenge these players on this weekend.

The course was long, hilly, and meticulously manicured. The stands were ready for thousands of spectators, the fairways were roped off for those who would roam, and the grassy banks provided thousands more superb viewing areas to take it all in. Players were surrounded on the first tee via 30-row deep horseshoe-shaped bleachers, and the music and cheers started two hours before tee time as the DJ energized the huge crowds who got up at 4:30 a.m. to be there by 6!
