6 – The Macdonald Rusacks in St. Andrews

We checked in for our 7-night stay, enjoyed conversing with both the bellman and front desk staff, then headed to the bar for drinks. Oops, somehow they had not registered our charge number yet, but it did not stop us from our Tennants and Guinness – and after this first stop, we decided to take a short walk onto our backyard: the 18th hole on St. Andrews famed Old Course! And – anyone surprised…we shot photos ON the famed Swilcan Bridge — wow, we are really here!!!

We enjoyed a beautiful sunset dinner as our table sat at the bay window overlooking the Old Course’s 18th green — and settled into our very nice rooms — ours was named the Forgans room, Janis and Erika’s room was named Tom Morris, Sr. What a surprise when we found out that the accommodations package Janis had booked, provided both breakfast AND dinner. Dinners were delicious, yet we found the restaurant was short-staffed and we would have to plan nearly two hours from start to finish. It was such a beautiful place to rehash the day’s events, that we really didn’t mind. But each morning, we loved the breakfast bar area: self-service, quick, delicious, and we could get omelets to order.
