3 – It’s a Small World at Dalmahoy

It was a nice surprise that our Dalmahoy stay included a full breakfast each day. We enjoyed Haggis for the first time, eggs, fruit, toast, coffee, and granolas to enjoy throughout the day — just a glorious array of delicious food!

For Monday’s round, Janis and Erika were able to take a golf cart, no caddy required, Val and I pushed our clubs on this hilly, 1992 Solheim Cup site! We sported warm rain gloves and several layers of clothing but couldn’t have been more excited to be playing golf in Scotland! The rain stopped a bit, but the temperature never warmed up.

As we were enjoying the layout of this nice course, we heard someone shout “Sue” just after we teed off on the 15th hole. UPCC member Ian Nicolson’s best friend Terry, whom I had previously met, had seen me from the adjacent #10 hole. He is a member of Dalmahoy, but I had no idea we would actually run into him! Loved this! We were happy when Terry agreed to join us in the bar post-game. He was hosting a friend from Australia who joined us as well.

We (Janis, Erika, Val and I) decided that after a day of chill and rain, we would take advantage of the beautiful pool facilities and go use the hot tub! An enjoyable trip for sure!
