Golf Trip of a Lifetime

Introduction

It was shortly after Val and I returned from the 2017 Solheim Cup in Iowa, when Janis floated the idea that we should consider going to the 2019 Solheim Cup in Scotland. Sometimes conversations with big ideas just fade away, but not so much when Janis Parker and Erika Sayers are involved.

Over the months that followed that initial conversation, occasional questions and planning updates would come in via email. Val and I had been thinking maybe a week to ten days would be a nice trip.

There were two official planning meetings. Along with her previous Scotland travel experience, Erika brought her detailed Scotland golf map to each get-together. We tentatively selected golf courses and our 17-DAY itinerary started to take shape. Before we knew it, Janis used her rewards points to book flights and hotels and began making inquiries about tee times. Erika started working on arrangements for all of our transportation within Scotland.

So, from idea to reality, this trip of a lifetime was captured with more photos than we care to admit, a few videos, and many precious memories. The pages that follow are but drop in the bucket of our experience, but if a day should come when our memories are fading, we hope this will serve as a joyful reminder.
